Liverpool have confirmed Emre Can will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the month.
The Germany international joined from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2014 and made 167 appearances for the club, the last of which came as a substitute in the recent Champions League final defeat against Real Madrid.
Can suffered an injury towards the end of last season, and although he recovered in time to participate in the final in Kiev, his lack of fitness ultimately cost him a place in Joachim Low’s World Cup squad.
Jurgen Klopp had been keen to retain the services of the 24-year-old but the versatile midfielder failed to agree terms and is reported to have already agreed a four-year contract with Italian champions Juventus.
Jon Flanagan has also been released along with youth players Toni Gomes, Paulo Alves, Mich’el Parker, Jordan Williams, Anthony Glennon, Jordan Hunter and Harvey Whyte, while Yan Dhanda has agreed a free transfer to Swansea City.
