Samsung Set To Open Washing Machine Plant In U.S.

Samsung will open its new washing machine factory in Newberry, South Carolina next week, it said on Thursday.

The opening comes only six months after the tech giant unveiled its plan to pour US$380 million to build a home appliance plant in the U.S. in June last year.

The Newberry plant would be one of the key local production bases for the company, together with its California facility, which was acquired in September 2016 from Dacor, a U.S.-based premium home appliance manufacturer.
