Charles Bronson’s Long Lost Son Says UK’s Most Notorious Criminal Should Be Released

A photographer claiming to be the long-lost son of Charles Bronson wants his father released from prison at long last.

George Bamby revealed how the notorious criminal handed him two hairs from his moustache which proved he was his biological father.

Appearing on This Morning, Mr Bamby said he was spotted by Bronson on a Channel 4 documentary about the paparazzi.

He said he picked up his phone to a woman who told him Bronson was a big fan of his from the show and wanted to send him some of his artwork.

He was then asked to come and meet the man himself at Wakefield prison.

Sorry, this video isn't available any more.

In just 48 hours he had got the necessary clearance to meet Bronson, and in typically strange fashion, met him through bars of his prison cell.

Asked if he was anxious about meeting him, he confessed: ‘I was frightened at first. I was saying to the guards, “You’re not going to leave me on my own with him?”

‘As I moved through security, I heard someone singing “Please release me, let me go.”

‘I opened this door, I walked in, Charlie is stood on his hands upside down doing 100 press ups in mid air, singing this song, without even releasing any breath or anything.

‘He jumps up, does a backflip, walks up to the bars in his cage and says, “Georgie boy!”

Mr Bamby said Bronson, who has changed his name to Salvador, had him in tears as they talked for two hours.

At the end of the visit, he handed him a napkin with two of his moustache hairs tucked inside.

He said: ‘What a lovely guy. He was so funny. Nothing like you would expect. I thought what a lovely personality he’s got.’

Mr Bamby told the programme how it’s time for his father to be released after 43 years spent in prison.

He said: ‘People ask, “how many people has he murdered?” He hasn’t murdered anyone.

‘Look at that Warboys guy, he’s raped all these women and stuff. He got eight years and they let him out.

‘My dad, has never killed anyone. He’s never hurt a woman or a child. He’s not done anything violent to anyone on the outside world. Why is he still locked up and they are not?’
