Barcelona have sent Turkish international Arda Turan to Istanbul Basaksehir on a two-and-a-half-year loan deal, the La Liga leaders said in a statement on Saturday.
Turan joined the club from Atletico Madrid for 34 million euros (£29 million) plus add-ons in July 2015, winning six trophies but only making 55 appearances and scoring 15 goals.
With the arrival of £145m Brazilian Philippe Coutinho at the Camp Nou last week, Turan fell even further down the order and will be targeting a return to form in his homeland.

'During this period Barca reserve the right to transfer the player to a club belonging to UEFA, and will receive a variable fee according to his performances,' said the Barca statement.
'Meanwhile, Istanbul Basaksehir will reserve the right to buy the player from Barcelona.'
Basaksehir club president Goksel Gumusdag said in a statement: 'Arda Turan is returning to his country wearing the orange kit (of Basaksehir). This is not just a transfer for Basaksehir, but a transfer for all of Turkey.'

One point clear of city rivals Galatsaray - who Turan played for from 2005 to 2011 - domestically after 17 games, Turan is expected to push the club through to the title.
Turkey's fourth-most capped player will also be hoping to return to his best for the national team after reversing his decision to retire from international football in August.
Turan quit the national team in June 2017 but changed his mind a month later after positive talks with new head coach Mircea Lucescu.
