Ahead Of Official Launch, Samsung India Leaks The Specs Of Galaxy J7 Duo

Samsung will launch the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ flagship smartphones on February 25 at its Unpacked event in Barcelona. Ahead of its official announcement, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ have leaked multiple times revealing its final render and specifications. Now we have more details about the device.

According to Evan Blass, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will launch in four colors: Midnight Black, Lilac Purple, Titanium Gray and Coral Blue. Blass had posted pictures of Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in lilac purple color and has now shared the final image of Galaxy S9+ in its coral blue color avatar. These pictures along with renders shared by casemaker dbrand paint a clear picture of what the final device will look like when it becomes official.

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are not going to be a major departure from Galaxy S8 duo in terms of design. They will be iterative updates with minor design changes including a thinner chin at the bottom and the re-positioned fingerprint sensor. Alongside these four colors at the time of launch, Samsung could also introduce the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in pink and red color options at a later stage.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ Specifications

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are expected to feature the same 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch curved Super AMOLED display with Quad HD+ resolution similar to its predecessors. The smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset in the US and China while all other markets will get models using Exynos 9 Series 9810 SoC. The Galaxy S9 is expected to launch with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage while Galaxy S9+ could offer 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

One of the major difference between the two devices will be in the camera department. Most leaks suggest only Galaxy S9+ will get the dual rear camera setup while Galaxy S9 will stick with single camera at the back. The main sensor on both the phones is expected to be a 12-megapixel one with variable aperture ranging from f/1.5 to f/2.4 with mechanical adjustment.

The camera setup is expected to bring new features like ability to shoot 480fps ‘super slow-mo’ videos at 720p. The dual camera setup on Galaxy S9+ will be vertically stacked as opposed to horizontal alignment found on Galaxy Note 8. The front camera module is said to stick with the 8-megapixel unit.

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will likely run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and Blass adds that both models will feature stereo speakers placed at the bottom. As evident from the renders, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will go on sale from March 16.
