Palestinians Protest Against Trump’s Recognition Of Jerusalem As Israel’s Capital

President Donald Trump’s speech Wednesday in which he recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel resulted in massive protests and condemnation from multiple regions around the world.

In his speech, the president told the State Department to start the process of shifting the American Embassy from the Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, a move which he called "a step to advance the peace process" between Israel and Palestine. The President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, stated that the U.S. was making a "declaration of withdrawal" from the peace process between the two nations.
